Rachel Tredwell’s story is a great one to tell. Almost a year ago today Rachel left her job as a nurse and has never looked back since.
After just one day of training at HQ in Bournemouth, Rachel decided to hand in her notice the very next day. She said, ‘When I came back in to complete the course I told the head of training that I’d already handed in my notice and she couldn’t believe it.’
‘Despite the fact I hadn’t completed the training I was convinced this was for me. It wasn’t just about the money, but I knew instantly that I would earn far more doing this than being a nurse.’
Nearly a year on Rachel, now a Not Just Travel Consultant has completed her biggest holiday booking to date: a £70k family holiday travelling to Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Costa-Rica for the incredible wildlife.
The holiday was booked through a mother who had entered Rachel’s prize draw at a local Christmas school fair.
‘I remember thinking at the time I only had a few entries at my stand and I usually get at least 50+. I had about 10 at this particular school fair and felt a little disappointed. Little did I know this was the beginning of my biggest holiday booking yet.’
Following the process and calling each person who had entered the prize draw, Rachel was greeted by one particular lady who said, ‘I’ve just started thinking about our trip to South America, you’re calling at the perfect time.’
With a tailor-made family holiday with specifics from business class flight, to 5-star hotels, with special requests for the 4 children and a wildlife focused trip in mind, Rachel had her work cut out from the beginning.
When we asked Rachel what she credited a booking of this scale to she responded, ‘Relationship building.’ The original brief was to spend not a penny over £40k however based on the itinerary and requirements it was going to be impossible to meet this.
Rachel used her training to carefully navigate through various conversations and liaised with a tour company in order to put together the perfect trip for the family.
