This week we announced that one of the biggest figures in the entire travel industry is joining us as a non-executive director: Derek Jones, former CEO of the giant Der Touristik Group UK and MD of tour operator Kuoni.

With over 30 years in the industry, working with Britain’s biggest travel brands, including running more than 1,000 high street travel agents, there’s nothing Derek doesn’t know about what it takes to be a travel consultant and he’s here to help you grow your business, too.

To have someone of Derek’s calibre onboard to shape the next stage of our growth is testament to Not Just Travel’s ambition and kudos within the industry.

The announcement comes on the back of the appointment of industry heavyweight Chris Harrison who has taken up the senior management position as commercial director.

Chris joined us following an 11-year stint at Dawson & Sanderson (one of the leading and most trusted discount travel agents in the north of England) where he was managing director. Prior to that he learnt the travel industry ropes as sales director at Thomas Cook.

The appointments of both Derek and Chris are a part of the company founders’ strategy to recruit the best in the business and to curate a team that fully supports its consultants and secures our position as front and centre of the homeworking world.

Our new head of people, Donna has also been busy expanding our ops and business development manager team, and brought a social media guru onboard, Amy Louise, to help every consultant drive their business to the next level.

Her role will include training every consultant how to create scroll-stopping social media posts and gain more customers.
