This is the news we expect you’ve been waiting for. The government has just announced the list of destinations that made it onto the Green List, ready for travel to resume on the 17th May.
What does ‘the green list’ mean?
A traffic light scheme will allow quarantine-free travel to countries placed on the Green List. While a holiday will be quarantine-free, travellers will still have to follow some restrictions.
The plan is that the government will review the Green List every 3 weeks. It’s recommended to check the Gov FCO website as well for the latest requirements per country.
Which countries made it onto the list?
We can confirm the following countries have made it to the Green List:
- Portugal including the Azores and Madeira
- New Zealand
- Faroe Islands
- Falkland Islands
“The Green List announcement has prompted a frenzy of activity.
Our phones and emails have been going full pelt and our travel consultants are planning to work late into the night and throughout the weekend because they are getting so many enquiries about holidays.
Bookings to the green list countries are forecast to break sales records over the next 48 hours and weeks ahead.”Steve Witt, Co-founder of Not Just Travel: Source Sky News
