Introducing the TC Forum: A new initiative to giving our travel consultants a voice in shaping the future

3 min read

At Not Just Travel, we believe that our Travel Consultants (TCs) are at the heart of everything we do. If they’re successful, we are too.

To ensure our TCs’ voices are heard and their insights valued, we’ve launched a powerful new initiative this year: the TC Forum.

This collaborative platform brings together six consultants and three HQ team members, including co-founder Steve Witt, franchise manager Melanie Garthwaite, and NJT marketing manager Sara Rigby.

Meeting monthly online and quarterly in person, the forum provides a consistent and structured way for consultants to share feedback, raise concerns and suggest ideas to improve how we work together.

Steve says: “By listening to those on the ground, we ensure decisions reflect real needs and experiences, ultimately helping all TCs succeed.”

Mel adds: “The TC Forum is a great way for our TCs to have a real say in the direction of NJT. It’s all about hearing their ideas, addressing their concerns and making sure we’re all moving forward together.”

While the forum gives consultants the opportunity to share sentiment and suggestions with management, it also helps to spread best practice among the wider TC community.

Louise, who joined as a consultant in October 2025, has already seen the difference.

“It’s a great opportunity for travel consultants to submit questions and ideas, suggest changes they’d like to see. We’ve got a really active WhatsApp group where we discuss what comes in. Some suggestions are quick fixes, others go back to Steve and Paul.”

And Louise has already seen initiatives being implemented.

“They’ve made changes like creating shorter bite-sized training videos and condensing communication into a weekly email so we’re not overwhelmed by updates. Some consultants also asked for more social get-togethers — so now there are coffee mornings and they’re hoping to introduce some co-working locations around the country. I find it hard to stay on task working from home, so knowing there’s a co-working day nearby would be amazing.”

What’s been actioned so far?

Here are some of the standout initiatives:

  • Bite-sized learning: Training videos are now shorter and searchable – great for busy schedules.
  • AI video search: Ask a question, and AI jumps you to the exact part of a training video with the answer.
  • WhatsApp support: More TCs now realise that this is fast, friendly, and efficient  – now it’s now the preferred support channel.
  • Business toolkit in development: When you join you’ll launch your own business so we’re stepping up the help we provide new TCs with finance, marketing and systems guidance.
  • Coffee mornings ➡️ co-working days: Casual, agenda-free sessions for real-time support and idea-sharing.
  • Smarter communication: You asked for fewer emails — and we heard you. We now only send out a Daily and Weekly email summary.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more responsive, and more innovative Not Just Travel. Why not be part of it?
