That’s why we’re super excited to announce that we’ve just appointed a brand new Onboarding Trainer who we know you’re going to love.
Meet Robyn. She’s bringing with her more than 24 years of experience in the travel industry – plus, she’s got a fairly novel pastime that we think is going to lift you beyond your expectations.
Born in Australia, Robyn spent much of her childhood growing up in Lancashire before heading back Down Under in her 20s.
It was there that she took herself off to college to study travel and tourism before securing a job with the Australian travel giant Flight Centre. This was the start of her illustrious career that saw her gain experience in virtually every field of travel.
To start with she spent two and a half years based in Sydney where she was integral in establishing the company’s Student Flights sector. There’s nothing like launching a new brand when you have to learn from the ground up.
Having proven herself there, Robyn moved to the company’s head office in Brisbane where her CV grew rapidly to include retail travel, corporate travel, account managing and business development.
Her career was going from strength to strength – literally. On the side Robyn had a rather unusual pastime – Olympic weightlifting.
But it was more than just a hobby. Robyn trained and coached in Olympic weightlifting and went on to work for the Australian Weightlifting Federation before having her very own weightlifting gym from 2015 to 2019.
As the decade was drawing to a close, Robyn made the decision to “head back to the UK”. Covid somewhat scuppered those plans and, like so many of us, it took a couple of years for her to find her feet, relocate and reestablish her career in travel back in the UK.
A few years working in corporate travel based out of Manchester ensued, as well as maintaining her coaching and training in weightlifting and Crossfit.
And now, Robyn is combining her training skills and her experience in travel in her new role with us.
“I’m a nurturer by nature. My training has taught me so much about the human spirit.”
As you’d expect from a champion weightlifter, Robyn knows what it takes to succeed: resilience, mental strength, patience, motivation and self-belief. She’ll be bringing all that to her training sessions – don’t panic, she won’t have you doing any snatch or clean and jerks!
“My forte is communication, nuturing and helping people learn. Olympic weightlifting is very technical and I like processes and procedures. Over the years I’ve mastered the art of saying the same thing in about five different ways so everyone can understand it.”
Robyn will be delivering your induction training when you join us. This will take place live and online so you can complete the five-days of virtual training from the comfort of your own home.
“I won’t just be talking to a screen from nine-to-five. It’s all about blended learning and capturing different people’s attention. I’ll cover everything from where to get your first clients to how to operate the booking system and all the day-to-day aspects that you’ll need to operate your business.”
Beyond the induction training, Robyn will be on hand: “Even once you’ve completed the induction training, don’t expect that to be it. Training with us is a continual journey and it’s my job to ensure you have all the resources at your fingertips.”
