Not Just Travel franchisee opens office with Hawaiian-themed party
One of our consultants has thrown a Hawaiian-themed party to celebrate the opening of her new purpose-built 60-square metre office at her Staffordshire home.
Gilly Bachelor (pictured), who joined The Travel Franchise/Not Just Travel last year, invited 78 clients to her home in Brewood and offered cocktails and Hawaiian-inspired food cooked on her barbecue.
All but one client wore a Hawaiian shirt to the afternoon gathering where the office, which is fitted with a kitchen and dining space to entertain clients, was unveiled.

Gilly said: “We wanted the guests to take part, so a Hawaiian theme was great as people were happy to wear a shirt and we handed out leis [garlands]. This all helped make the event laid back but fun.”
Reflecting on her first year as a consultant, she said the kindness shown by the Not Just Travel network had been a personal highlight.
“It is hard, in terms of the long hours, but this job is the most rewarding thing that I have ever done,” she said. “People in this industry are super lovely.”

“We are never going to know everything, but I can find out anything from the network of people.”
Gilly, who previously worked for a marketing agency, said one of her most memorable bookings was for a honeymoon she took while shopping at wholesaler Costco.
“Taking a booking at Costco – that is the beauty of being mobile,” she said. “We had spoken about it before, but the customer was ready to rock and roll. Whether taking a booking in Costco was a highlight or a lowlight, I don’t know!”
