Meet Leigh Prendiville. Aged 50, who lives in Berkshire. Leigh is very well travelled from Mexico to South Africa he’s always looking for that next trip.
Leigh started a domestic cleaning business many years ago, which he then franchised out and later sold. This experience gave him an appreciation of what a successful business model looks like, which was what first attracted him to join The Travel Franchise.
What was your first-holiday booking like and who was it for?
My first ever holiday booking was for Lapland. It was for a family who is planning to go this Christmas Eve.
It’s for 3 nights at a hotel. It also includes meeting Santa, a magical reindeer, and dog-sled ride, amongst other activities. Which they’ll all really enjoy.
Why did you decide to start your own travel business?
I’ve always travelled extensively. My first wife was from Mexico, which meant plenty of travelling around Central America.
In 2003 my eldest son was born. I had a domestic cleaning business at the time, which I franchised, and then sold in 2015 following a divorce. Closing this chapter of my life I decided to travel to Thailand, 5 times in one year in fact!
Last year I planned a trip for both me and my sons, I realised I liked the planning as much as the trip itself. I quickly realised it made sense for the next chapter of my life to be in the travel industry.
What made you choose The Travel Franchise in the end?
I spoke to both Steve and Paul. I explained that I had started a domestic cleaning business, I could see that their franchise model was a very good one. I wanted to be a part of what they had created.
Daley Thompson was also a good brand ambassador to have onboard.
