Meet Warren and Dena. Warren came from 30 years in investment banking and Dena is a full-time mum of 2. They both love to travel and have spent their lives counting down the days to their next trip.
As big Elvis fans, they choose to renew their vows in Graceland, Memphis, on their 25th anniversary. They are embarking on this venture together, running a travel business from home, to enjoy more freedom, flexibility, and a better quality of life for them and their family.
What was your first-holiday booking like and who was it for?
The booking was for a good friend of ours. It was for a family of 4 to Ibiza for an amazing 10 days in the sunshine.
Following the news restricting travel, I worked closely with my Personal Travel Coach, which you get when you join, to change the booking around. We needed to do this in a very small timeframe so having my coach was invaluable.
I had originally done the booking with JET2, I then had to update it to TUI. The family is now due to go to a beautiful hotel in Turkey, on Lara Beach.
My first ever holiday booking was a good challenge and introduction to thinking on your feet and keeping your customer happy by being proactive.
Why did you decide to start your own travel business?
I’ve been looking at travel franchises for honestly 5 years or more. I had been in the same job for many years and I wanted a change.
Family and friends were increasing asking me to help them out with bookings their holidays. My time and energy in doing this were all based on kindness, and there was no real benefit to me.
I knew that if I joined I could help all my friends and family, as they already came to me about their holidays.
What made you choose The Travel Franchise in the end?
The amount of information in the discovery centre and video tour is all there to explore and enjoy before you commit to joining, no one else came close.
I watched a lot of videos in the real stories section of the website and they gave me confidence.
Paul the Co-Founder of the business, who you speak with about your options, was always accessible, but at the same time, he was never chasing me. I never felt sold to. There was no pressure at any point and he made me feel very comfortable.
