Why this part time franchisee can now quit his job due to his continued success

Just 16 weeks in, Ben Casey is quitting his job to go full time with The Travel Franchise

Travel entrepreneur Ben only launched his business 16 weeks ago but he’s already so successful he’s ready to follow his dream full time.

“I’m delighted it’s happened so fast!”

Ben Casey, 33, from Meriden near Solihull, became a franchisee Travel Consultant with multi-award-winning company, The Travel Franchise in July. Since then he said that things have ‘taken off,’ and gone so well that Ben has now handed in his notice as Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy and Stone and will be a full-time travel business owner in January.

He said: “The response has been amazing. I started the travel company around my full-time job, but to be honest, it’s gone so well I couldn’t keep doing both. It’s been challenging but I’m delighted it’s happened so fast.”

How a franchise is helping with a work-life balance

Ben’s motivation for wanting to be an entrepreneur and own his own business is so that he can balance his job around his family. He said: “My husband Chris and I got married a few years ago and we have started the adoption process. We hope to be sorted by April, then it’s waiting to find a match. It could be a few weeks or months.

I wanted to make sure the travel business was up and running so that after paternity leave, I would be ready to go. It’s the lifestyle benefits that are important; being able to be there for our child, you don’t know what some children have been through, so it’s the little things like being able to drop them off at school and be there to pick them up each day. It’s being able to work from home and have that flexibility. It’s a really exciting time!”

How the support of The Travel Franchise has helped grow Ben’s business

The support offered by The Travel Franchise’s mentor scheme had really helped Ben grow his business, he said: “My mentor Norma has been brilliant. She’s always there and helps keep me focused. The support is amazing – it’s more than I believe you get with competitors.”

Ben has always worked in a customer and leisure focused industry. He grew up in Harborne in Birmingham and worked at the Hippodrome. His family, who live in Stratford-Upon-Avon, always go to Turkey each year, but Ben said it was travelling round the world with his friends after university that cemented his love of organising travel.
